As a primer for developing my artwork, Urban Sketching provides both technical grounding and conceptual richness. It allows me to explore composition, perspective, and light in real-time, while also building a vocabulary of visual motifs drawn from everyday life - rooftops, signage, people in motion, shifting weather, textures, and patterns. These quick, gestural drawings often serve as raw material or inspiration for more finished works, but they also stand on their own as intimate records of place. Over time, urban sketching cultivates a way of seeing that is attentive, educational, and responsive, an essential foundation for my work with varied subjects and stories.
